Heat Sheets for Tonight's Meet

Please welcome Providence Plantation to our pool!

If your child becomes sick and won’t be able to attend, please email Coach Alyssa ([email protected]) and Amanda Piekutowski ASAP. Please remember, we do not have any practices on meet days.

PARKING: As you know, we have limited parking in our parking lot. Feel free to park on the streets but please do not block sidewalks or driveways and DO NOT park on the hill/entrance to the club.

ARRIVAL TIME: Please arrive around 5:00. Mountainbrook Warm Ups are 5:15-5:30 and Visiting Team Warm Ups are 5:35-5:50. 6 and Under swimmers do not participate in warm ups.

Please let Amanda know if your swimmer is interested in performing the national anthem (singing or playing an instrument) prior to this meet!

HEAT SHEETS: The heat sheet will be emailed tomorrow. This link provides a quick tutorial on reading heat sheets. We will not have copies of heat sheets available at the meet for parents or swimmers. Please bring a copy if you’d like to follow along!

We are asking that parents write your child's last name on their right shoulder/upper back with a sharpie before you come. ALSO, please write your child’s events as shown on the bottom of the website here.

WHAT TO BRING: Please dress your children in their team suit or blue/black suit and team t-shirt. Bring your team swim cap and goggles. Please note: year round swim club or high school team caps are NOT allowed. Bring a sweatshirt, sunscreen and chairs, as seating will be limited with away team guests. If your swimmer has not received a team swim cap or t-shirt for this season please let me know!

TEAM LOCATION: The Home Team will set up in front of the storage building and behind the diving board. The Visiting Team will set up behind the splash pad. ALL SPECTATORS will set up on the entry side of the pool, closest to the field. Please bring chairs. The spectator side of the pool is quite sunny.

ABOUT US: We have 150 swimmers on our roster. We are a 25 meter pool. We do have diving blocks but if swimmers are not comfortable diving off our blocks, they are welcome to dive off the side or start in the water. Please do not allow swimmers in the splash pad or deep end during the meet. Also keep your children off of the playground and volleyball court during the meet. The tennis courts are strictly off limits to non-tennis activities! Swimmers should be on the pool deck cheering on their teammates!

VOLUNTEERS: 1st half volunteers, please check in with Mary Catherine Zito and/or Hayley Hosey under the pool pavilion upon arrival by 5:45. All first and 2nd half timers, head timer and stroke/turn judges should meet under the shelter at 5:50 pm for a timer/judge meeting.

2nd half volunteers, we will switch before event #33. Please be ready to take over. If you have any questions, please see Mary Catherine or Hayley.

CONCESSIONS/FOOD TRUCK: We will have Thrasher Dogs, Nautical Bowls and our snack bar will be open. The food vendor accepts cash and credit cards. You must load credits on your account to purchase from the snack bar. We will let you know if we are able to secure a food truck for the meet! The truck we had scheduled cancelled this week, so we are working to find a replacement.

COMBINING HEATS: We will combine heats for ages 13-14 and 15-18, when possible.

IMPORTANT: You can see the estimated start times on the heat sheet. Sometimes the meets move quicker than expected and sometimes they are slower. Our meet could last until close to 10:00 PM. We encourage you all to stay as late as you can to cheer on your team! If you have an emergency and need to leave before your swimmer swims in his/her scheduled event, please let Amanda or Alyssa know! It is especially important for swimmers in a relay team to stick around and swim in the relay - if a swimmer is missing at the time of the event, then the rest of the relay team will not be able to swim the race! The freestyle relays are the last events and are the MOST fun to watch! Try to stay until the end to cheer on Mountainbrook - the energy around the pool really motivates the swimmers to do their best!

PER GCSL, NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED

NO GLASS ON DECK!!!!!

PLEASE REVIEW THE CODE OF CONDUCT WITH YOUR SWIMMERS BEFORE THE MEET.
