IMPORTANT: FIRST SWIM MEET INFO
OUR FIRST SWIM MEET IS MONDAY, JUNE 7!!
*The deadline to enter your swimmer(s) into our first meet is Friday, June 4 @ 5:00 pm. Please understand, it is laborious to set up and hold a swim meet, therefore, we need ALL of the allocated time to prepare. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
Register your swimmer(s) here: https://mountainbrook.swimtopia.com/swim_meets
*We will not have practice on Monday - or ANY meet days. Please keep swimmers away from the sun and the pool on meet days. The sun can really drain them and they may not perform as well at meets.
*Swimmers should report to the pool no later than 5:15. Warm-ups will run from 5:15-5:45 and the meet will start promptly at 6:00.
*Don't forget: team suit or black/blue suit, goggles, swim cap, sweatshirt, towel, chairs and money.
*Charlie Odulio will be perfoming our national anthem on trumpet!
*We need one more volunteer (stroke judge) for our first meet. Please consider signing up if you have previous swim experience or know the strokes.
*Volunteers should report to Ashley Maryanski upon arrival to sign in, confirm job responsibilities and get equipment. Ashley will have a table set up near the snack bar. There will be a timers and stroke judge meeting by the water fountain at 5:50 pm. An email reminder will be sent to all volunteers before Monday.
*Swimmers should report to the designated "bull pen" area. Look for the labeled areas (age/gender) on the splash pad/diving board side of the pool. Coaches and volunteers will be assisting swimmers with getting to their events on time during the meet.
*Parents/spectators should sit on the entry/park side of the pool.
*Heat sheets should be available on Monday by noon. We appreciate your patience with our first few meets as we are working with new software through Swimtopia this year.
DON'T FORGET TO BRING $$$
- Food Truck: True Pizza will be serving cheese/pepperoni pizza, salad and meatballs. A portion of the proceeds will go toward our swim team to help purchase new starting blocks.
- Snack Bar: We will have the snack bar open for beverages, snacks, chips, candy, and ice cream. All profits from the snack bar will go directly to the swim team.
- Raffle: We will also hold a raffle!!!! Buy one ticket or 20 tickets for a chance to win some awesome prizes!
Please bring CASH and support our team by purchasing from the food truck, snack bar and by participating in the raffle.
OTHER HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS:
*Glass is strictly prohibited at the pool.
* Please do not allow your children to climb on the sand mounds at the park. Volunteers are working hard to get the volleyball courts completed and your help keeping this area protected is appreciated.
* Please do not allow your children to rinse off in the indoor showers and sinks after playing in sand. The harshness of the sand causes plumbing issues!
* Children must be 12 or older to be at the pool without a guardian after practice!
* We have a TON of items collecting in the lost and found. Check the boxes at the entrance the next time you come into the pool.
Please reach out to Jen Ruiz if you have any additional questions.
